OK, so I received this e-mail from Ed Peper (any relation to Jeremy?) from Chevy, which begins with the following words:
You put in the effort. You made the most capable, most responsible, and most refined commercial you could for the 2007 Tahoe.
Indeed I did. Except that I never got to see my most capable, most responsible and most refined commercial, because it never got most approved or at least I never got the ability to most forward it to a most friend or most view it myself (except on YouTube that is)
On the bright side, I do like the idea of a boardroom chatroom to discuss and announce the winners (although I'm not holding my breath about being a winner)
You put in the effort. You made the most capable, most responsible, and most refined commercial you could for the 2007 Tahoe. During the course of your creativity, we hope you learned a few things about this all new SUV from Chevrolet.
Now it's time to see how your work stacks up. Join us online in the Chevy Boardroom on April 27 at 8:00 p.m., EST, as the judges discuss the entries, reveal the top five commercials, and announce the winner. In the meantime, learn more about the all new 2007 Tahoe at chevy.com. You can also request a quote from your local Chevy dealer or sign up to receive email updates on great offers and promotions from Chevrolet. Thanks for participating and good luck.

I'm very disappointed with the Chevy Tahoe results. They picked the worst 5 finalists ever. Starting with the VERY clear rules in the creation of the commercial such as:
1- Include price
2- Describe the car as "more capable, more responsible and more refined" (in the EXACT same order shown above), never was mentioned to use other adjectives as predictable, smart and so forth.
3- Enter at least one feature of the New Tahoe (Such as Seats, back door et)in each sequence.
Basically, NONE of the 5 finalists met the requirements. I don't know who were the judges, however, They haven't been detail-oriented and consistent enough with what they demanded from people in the creation of Tahoe Commercials.
The 1st finalist entered a text about the LAME bill's story, going on fingerprints and gloves....What happened with describing the SUV as more capable, responsible and refined?. That message NEVER got across.
This misunderstanding deserves a place on the NEWS.
Ed Peper Chevrolet General Manager sucks. He should get FIRED!.

Joseph,
Do you think that Chevy Tahoe will actually use the winning ads? It would be outrageous for Chevy to launch a CGM / CGC campaign like like and not do anything with the winning entries.

I agree with the above post. Ed Peper needs to go. He is the most arrogant guy I have ever met who also has no dealership experience and stands on a podium telling dealers to step up. how about this ED you step down and I will step up.

The lucky sperm club has spoken!!!
My freind you have it all wrong. Ed Peper is one of the most gracious, caring, positive and responsible people I have ever met. Maybe YOU should step down!! Ed has a vision for the greater good of Chevrolet not just your Daddy's delearship
Be responsible when you post garbage like this. It shows ignorance and immaturity, but hey, nobody said you need to be smart to run a dealership...cha ching as the register rings!!!!

Outsider...
You are just one of his no talent friends. You have all been doing such a great deal with Chevrolet. He is a loser and so are you.

Hey outsider, what dealership experience do have ? None, like everybody else at Chevrolet. We're working our tails off everyday to make it happen everyday and the only cha ching we hear is the big payoffs that managers like Ed Peper are getting to run the largest auto manufacturer into the ground. What do they care, they're making enough to retire in just a few years and leave some other poor person to pick up the pieces.Thats what I call a great long term visionary.By the way Ed maybe YOU should stop posing as OUTSIDER.

I totally agree with the above post. Ed Peper has shown his arrogance to more than one dealer. I would advise fixing your house (Chevrolet) rather than giving advice to others on how to fix their dealerships.
Soon hopefully the old guard will be gone and NEW people who understand our business will take over higher positions. I have been with Chevrolet a long time and as usual I will survive.
