I know this is a bit dated now, but I wanted to respond to this question of "What is an event" and how odd/interesting it is that we can have digital events.
Maybe this is the result of being a "digital native" who grew up spending all my free time online, but the idea of a digital event does not even remotely strike me as odd. Attending quite clearly, in this case, meant planning on purchasing the book on Bumrush day. Not attending meant you wouldn't.
Am I an anomaly here? It just seems straight forward to me.
