No news to report, except that I'm maintaining which can only be a good thing. This is the most consistent my weight has ever been in recent memory, however I'd still like to drop another 5-7 more pounds before the end of the year.
Well at least I now know I can maintain my weight, but ultimately I want to get to a 183-187 range and with my brother's and sister's weddings coming up in December, I have incentive to fit into my Armani Wedding Suit (provided I don't breathe and/or eat the entire evening)
So here goes my final push at dropping 7-10 pounds in 2 months. It's doable for sure, but if - and only if - I can get back into some kind of swimming routine and more disciplined diet.

Nothing radical to report in terms of fat revelations...just trying to eat less of the bad stuff (would this have been better as a Tweet?)
Nothing going on but the calories. I've been between 193.5 and 197.5 for just under 2 months (not coincidentally the same time since Jack was born)
Not disillusioned but definitely need to pick things up ahead of the end of the year when I'll attempt to get back into my wedding Armani suit for my brother and sister's weddings (not to each other)
After 2 week's hiatus (due to traveling and over-eating), I have to report that I'm back to 197.5. I feel this is an invisible threshold that - if crossed - could start a slide towards Jerry Springer airlift or Randy Jackson or Al Roker stomach-stapling status...so I'm going to do my best to bite the bullet (not literally, as gunpowder is loaded with calories) and work my way back to breaking the 190 barrier.
Somehow I'm back on track, dropping 2.5 pounds this week. Not sure if I did anything differently or special, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
It's really funny how the overwhelming fear of "letting you down" has kept me from giving up.

Another week, another pound of fat added. Get it together, Jaffe. Stop the rot. Reverse the incline.
For the first time in this process, I didn't want to post, but I guess this is where the rubber hits the road and this fatblogging communal initiative either works or doesn't.
Hopefully, I'll report back next week with better news.

Hmmm, I put on 2.5 pounds this week and 0.5 pounds the week before. I also haven't blogged since June 25 and haven't podcasted since June 6. Coincidence? I think not.
Could it REALLY be that blogging and podcasting burns calories at a faster rate than was previously believed? If the results are true, this could be breakthrough findings for the weight-loss industry.
Or it could be the fact that the lack of blogging/podcasting is due to the arrival of little Jack Zev Jaffe (as he was named at his bris last Sunday), coupled with the celebration and excessive scotch consumption to celebrate his arrival (with a bit of July 4th thrown in for good measure)
So now comes the test. As I settle back into the swing of things, I'll need to get back on track and reverse the weight gain. Ultimately you will be my witnesses and judges!
After about a month of being stuck around 195 to 196, I've finally broken through the 30 pounds barrier and hopefully it won't be long until I reach 190 pounds.
My original goal was to break 190 by the time the baby arrives (due date July 6)
That said, no telling how much scotch (2 pounds a tot) I'll consume when the baby comes. I did a search for "Bottle of Single Malt Scotch", but for some reason WeightWatchers only measures in single portion sizes :)
