Last night I attended The Webby Awards and was blown away by the turnout, professionalism and slick execution which made me so proud to be associated with this business. Congrats to Neil, Tiffany, Rodger and co on an amazing evening...
The Daily Show's Rob Corddry MC'ed and category winners had 5 words, with which to accept their award. I was proud that my table (the infamous 14) had winners in the form of Dogster - think Friendster meets Pets (not dot com) - who accepted with, "Let's do it doggie style!" (love the concept by the way of a social networking/community of interest around one's pets)
Special award winners went to the Kleptones, Craig of Craigslist, Flickr and THE ex-veep himself, Al Gore, who had more than 5 words to make his speech, but still stole the show with, "Please don't recount this vote." It's like the Focker joke, it just doesn't get old :)
It was great to see a few cronies - Lydia, Erika, David (Babycenter winner), Jurie (ING Direct winner) there as well. Sadly, I baled at around 11 bells as I had to schlep back to the burbs...just as well as I was going pear shaped.
Once again - fantastic evening and I felt so proud to be associated with the Webby's (they are supporting my Creative Roadshow - the Battle for the HeArt)
