Any thoughts on this one...it's a campaign for Frontier Airlines which is somewhat cleverly is trying to communicate the Frontier Airlines now flies to Mexico.
They do this by personifying the various animals on the tails of their aircraft. In this particular case, Flip is pissed because Hector the Otter is being sent in his place. So he's throwing his toys or at least splashing around an awful lot in protest.
There is a petition (1596 signatures which doesn't seem a lot, considering most of them are no doubt from the agency that created this), a fake blog (normally a huge no-no, but kinda works given it's a dolphin doing the blogging. That said, we do have oxygen invading posts like, "I'm sad today. Can't write. Will try tomorrow," which I guess would be consistent with the story, but it didn't stop Flip producing all those TV spots...
Aah yes, the TV spots. The site is teaming with them, incuding the very clunky title frame before most of the spots begin which neatly states Grey Worldwide (PS Why when you type in www.greyworldwide.com do you not get a redirect? and why no prominent link to your clients' live campaigns?)
And while we're in the dissecting phase, why no links to Frontier's website from this one and why no links to this one from Frontier's. Perhaps we ran out of money for links, because we were so busy making more TV spots for the site...
All in all, this one tries a little too hard for my liking...I'll eagerly embrace any information or insights from the participating agency, client, etc. that proves otherwise. But until then, I'm giving this one the bird (as in flip-off)
