Thought I'd use one post to give you several bits of information/updates that border from the sublime to the ridiculous:
1. Keycard Chronicles
I was watching a Blink-182 segment on MTV cribs, where one of the band members (I forget which one) keeps the electronic keycard from every hotel he visits. He literally has boxes full of all these keycards. I started to do the same (I have a lot as well), but after a while I thought I'd something a little closer to my trade....and so I started a Flickr set (Tag: Keycard Chronicles) containing the room numbers of every hotel I've stayed at since.
As you'll see, I've stayed at 53 different hotels in just under 18 months (roughly 3 a month)
Besides always knowing which room I'm staying in (as it's on my iPhone), it's a great visual way to look back at my travels, with commentary on service, amenities, context and community response thrown in to add even more color.
I'm not really sure where this goes, but I think there are some legs...
2. Marketing Folk in Fairfield County
A while back I started the "Marketing Folk in Fairfield County" group on Facebook and told no one about it.
I wanted to see if it would catch on without any promotion. 11 members later, I have my answer and so now I'm telling people about it...
Seriously, there are TONS of really great marketing folk in Connecticut. Time for us to come together to do the 4 C's (Armano - no stealing this time :)): Connect. Communicate. Create. Collaborate.
3. If crayon doesn't work out...
...there's always singing. My rock band dream is still alive, but for now, I'll settle for the honor of singing God Bless America at the Bridgeport Sound Tigers game at a first night Chanukah celebration.
4. Sears/Izea promotion
2 days left in the program and I'm approaching 400 comments, but I'm still getting my a$$ kicked by Tamar Weinberg. Come on community, you can enter up to 3 times and if I have the most comments, I get $2,500, which I'm donating to charity. Let's make a difference shall we?
PS If I hear one more, "I don't know how to comment on a blog" excuses, I will slap you.
5. Taking a break...
It's my birthday on Wednesday (although I am doing another LIVE Jaffe Juice show at 1pm EST on 12/24) and then from Thursday thru the New Year (after which there's CES), I'm going to be slooooooowing things down and taking my foot of the gas for a bit of R&R.
So in a nutshell, very infrequent to no content creation and/or conversation.
HOWEVER, in keeping with my pledge to provide some assistance to those who have lost their jobs during this cruel and unforgiving economic climate, if you want a bit of promotion/visibility via Jaffe Juice, send me a guest post via e-mail (jaffe at crayonville dot com) together with your resume...and I'll put you up as a guest author.
