Some thoughts about so called "social media experts" and their portrayal as "snake oil salesmen" or charlatans.
My position is that it's less about deception and more about lack of experience and a degree of ineffectiveness in terms of being able to position, sell through and implement.
That said, maybe the *real* charlatans are the marketers who are so desperate or eager for new ideas that they are not managing expectations in terms of what they want (because for the most part, they don't what they want)
